Since 1987, the Tour du Faso, Africa’s biggest cycling race, has led over ten stages and around 1,300 kilometres through Burkina Faso – on sand tracks, at 40 degrees, with tent camps instead of team hotels. Wilm Huygen follows the 2011 edition and accompanies local heroes and a German amateur team whose ideas of ambition, fairness and team spirit keep colliding. A sports film that tells, with humour and big images, of the relationship between Europe and Africa.
