From 1938 to 1945, propaganda minister Joseph Goebbels makes Hitler’s plans for war and annihilation acceptable to the masses – with speeches, newsreels and feature films, while even his marriage becomes an affair of state. Joachim A. Lang interweaves re-enacted scenes from the innermost circle of power, whose dialogue is based on diaries and minutes, with historical archive footage and testimonies of Holocaust survivors. The film exposes how propaganda works and why its mechanisms still have an effect today. Original title: “Führer und Verführer”.
